New and different things to do with your Alpha Clamp
Made in the USA, New Generation Bar Clamp Offers User Greater Versatility. On January 24, 2008, Lowell Thomas Tool, Inc Introduced a new generation bar clamp, called the Alpha Clamp. This patented tool is made in the United States; each tool is personally inspected for defects and has a lifetime guarantee with it. Invented out of necessity, the inventor was frustrated from working in the cramped V-berth of his sailboat using a standard bar clamp. He was so dissatisfied by those clamps’ limited throat depth, strength, and overall usefulness that he invented the Alpha-Clamp, which uses two bars instead of one. The long 18-inch lower bar works just like a standard clamp: squeezing the handle pulls the bar tight pulling the trigger releases it. The Alpha-Clamp’s extra bar moves independently, in two-inch increments when you push a button, this feature gives users up to a 12-inch throat depth (the span between the pads), something you’d get only in a much heavier, much more expensive C-clamp. Both of these bars are removable and reversible, so the clamp can be used for spreading, jacking, and hoisting operations up to 33 inches. The Alpha-Clamp has 4 brakes, double the number used by other manufacturers, so there’s no fade in the holding power on loads up to 250+ pounds. The lower bar is stamped with a standard ruler on one side and metric on the other, and the jaw has been fitted with a horizontal and vertical level. The Alpha-Clamp has been described as an impressive new kind of clamp To call it a clamp does not describe it’s full potential, “It feels more like a machine, when you hold it you know it’s a real tool made in made in America”.
